Leaders Anticipate Change

Leaders Anticipate Change

Change is inevitable and as a leader, you must be prepared for all eventualities.
To lead is to anticipate possibilities and plan effectively.

One of my favorite quotes, “Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance” captures what it means to lead.

It means to be prepared at all times.

5 Facts On Change

The phrase, “CHANGE IS COMING” is redundant because change is one of life’s constant variable. In addition, stating change is coming is as useless as informing a child that he or she will grow up. That is inevitably obvious!

Here are some facts about change:

  1. Change is messy
  2. Change is difficult
  3. Change is a journey
  4. Change is inevitable
  5. Change is a paradox

Anticipate Change

While change on any level (individual, organizational, national or global level) is often viewed as a black box which scares, frustrates and intimidates some people it is the responsibility of leaders to anticipate and act accordingly. It is important for leaders to embrace change(s) with courage, purpose, and vision. Additionally, leaders, forward-thinkers, organizations, institutions, change agents, activists, disruptors, idealists, pioneers, entrepreneurs and global citizens must anticipate the future.

On a side note, what I discovered is the mere fact that people detest ambiguity that surrounds change is not a reason to abandon change.

So it behooves the leaders to own the change process and conversations. Be upfront about the demands and the potential losses with change. Own the process and gain respect.

That, in a nutshell, is what it means to LEAD.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
