Count The Cost

Count The Cost

Even after you’ve counted the cost, the process might be rough and challenging. So be prepared! This statement,”balancing family and career, hurts like hell” attributed to the CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi is very revealing and made me pause for a bit.

The Price

For anyone who has ever committed to a dream, vision or had an idea, the demands of the dream and paying the price is not particularly new knowledge, however, hearing about the implications of paying such a steep price is useful. The question then is will you pay the price if you knew it will cost so much?

Work-Life Balance

As an adult and also a parent, I know first-hand the price paid to accomplish anything worthwhile such that when one talks about the continued tension between family, relationships, work, business, ministry, entrepreneurship, education etc it is with an intent of finding a silver bullet. However, I believe women (across all cultures) deal with these issues at a much deeper level and perhaps feel the pain more in my humble opinion and I could be wrong.

Strangely, I believe women (across all cultures) deal with these issues at a much deeper level and perhaps feel the pain more in my humble opinion and I could be wrong so I stand corrected.

This article on Family and Career tensions featured on Fortune.com (On Work-Life Balance) highlights the huge price paid by some of the accomplished business leaders. Their candor, transparency, honesty is applauded and very similar to everyone in the workforce. Work-life will always be a challenge for us all and I think what we have to continue to do is simply find ways to manage these tensions.

Remember that whatever you do, keep fighting for the balance and don’t forget the things that are most important must remain important.

Be well,
